Even as our current guest blogger continues to post, Times & Seasons is happy to welcome Bruce Webster as our next guest blogger.
Bruce joined the LDS Church as a teenager in 1967, served an LDS mission in Central America, and majored in Computer Science at BYU. He has spent much of his free time since then buying and reading books about Mormonism, as well as writing three technical books of his own. He started the Adventures in Mormonism weblog in 2007, but was participating in various online forums when blogs were just a twinkle in Tim Berners-Lee’s eye. Bruce has worked in the IT industry for thirty years, and is presently a technical consultant for corporate clients. He is married with nine kids and lives in Colorado.
Welcome, Bro. Webster. I first ran into your name atop articles for Byte magazine in the early 1980s, back when it was still the Small Systems Journal. It was neat to learn, years later, that he (and Orson Scott Card, who wrote for Compute! and Compute!’s Gazette) was a member of my church.
Great choice.
I’m looking forward to your posts, Bruce.
Welcome, Bruce. I still fondly remember you game for the Apple II, SunDog!
Welcome Bruce!
A very big welcome!!
Welcome!
Nine kids! Holy smokes! Now that’s good old fashioned Mormonism!
Welcome, Bruce; I’m looking forward to your posts here.
I’m looking forward to reading this.
Kevin (#7): Actually, it’s more like new-fashioned Mormonism, since it represents combined families — my sweet wife Sandra and I were each married previously. Both divorced, we married each other at 33 and found ourselves with nine kids under the age of 14. The upside was that they were all pretty much out of the house by the time we were 50 (though my youngest daughter has moved back in a few times). Now we just have four dogs. :-) ..bruce..
Welcome, Bruce. Look forward to reading.
FWIW, I don’t think getting the kids out by 50 is an “upside”–my husband turns 50 this year and our baby is only 5–but that’s just me. :)
