I believe that from beyond the veil, their mother sees them and knows that in the too-short time she was granted to raise them, she was able to shape them into the kind of people who would lay down their lives for their friends.

Oh, Julie–that’s heartbreaking. I’m so sorry.
And it’s a wonderful picture.
I love this photo. What a tender tribute as well. I think I may have read Rebecca’s story a few months ago. Heartbreaking.
Two good people lost too soon. Luckily, their stellar traits live on in the children.
This is amazing. My heart is filled and broken open all at once.
Thank you Julie for sharing this beautiful photo and story.
One of the most beautiful images I have ever seen. Thank you.
I’ve stopped commenting, but this post lifted my veil, so to speak, as I lived in Las Vegas as a child and was expected to not drink any water on fast Sunday until about 5:00, after church. I thought I was either going to die of thirst (like actually die, not some charming metaphor, after the 1/2 hour or so trip to church in the 120 degree weather and an interminable time after) or was going to “he%%.” Thanks for the memories.
Wonderful photo – and my condolences to all who have suffered in this loss.
So much to think about and much of it beyond words. Thank you.
Wow. Thank you.
She ain’t heavy………..she’s my sister.
Oh wow, Julie. Lovely and a terribly sad story.
Wow, what a powerful picture. And a sad story. I am sure their mother is so proud of them.
Great pictures Julie.
