I’m pleased to introduce Kirsten M. Christensen as our newest guest blogger. Kirsten has a PhD in Germanic Studies from UT-Austin and has taught at Mount Holyoke College and Notre Dame and is now at Pacific Lutheran University. She’s married to Ted Warren (who may have the most interesting job of anyone I know) and she has two adorable, smart, precious boys, Grayson and Hal.
Huzzah!
Welcome to the party.
My wife and I once made pork chops for Kirsten, just before finding out she was a vegetarian. Then she taught us a thing or two about food, all part of the year when she and Ted were the other newlywed American Mormon Germanists in Bonn. Welcome, Kirsten, and I hope you’ll post something about mysticism.
So don’t leave us in suspense–what is Ted’s job?
No kidding, I clicked comments just to find out. Someone e-mail me with the answer.
I think I know! I finally have a bloggernacle connection (other than the fact that I’m credited as a reader in Julie’s book)! Ted Warren was a classmate of mine in high school (and my date at a girl’s choice dance), and he is a photographer. He was voted “most interesting job” at our 10 yr high reunion because of his experiences as a photographer–at that time he had photographed both George Bush Sr. and then-President Clinton. I remember meeting Kirsten then, and getting the photographs of baby Grayson in my email box, but haven’t heard from him since. Ted was winning national photography contests by the time we were in sixth grade, so I imagine by now his work has taken him far and wide. Hi, Ted and Kirsten! –Nichole (Nikki)
Hi, Nikki, from both Ted and me! Ted was delighted to read your post. It’s great to know you’re part of the ‘nacle, too!
