Okay, that didn’t work. We spiked again, knocked out Apache again.
I took down our index file and reverted back to the out-of-the-box default wordpress index. (Pretty, huh?) We’ll see if that helps. Maybe there’s a script in our index that’s crashing the site.

Wow, it looks as ugly as my blog now! :D
Kaimi, while you’re working on the site, could you implement cartoon-avatar-based pseudo-3d real-time chat? That would be cool.
I’d like a Chinese pug animated .gif in the masthead, please. Thank you.
b2evolution has a captcha plugin. I’m pretty sure WordPress must have one too. Maybe you should consider it.

Does it please you to believe I am pretty sure wordpress must have one too perhaps i should consider it?
What false doctrine is your blog being cursed for espousing? Hm… Be healed!
You already know what I am going to say here:
blah blah blah 40 days and nights of work for Kaimi blah blah blah
Ha, Ha!
Now if you were only using Slashcode you wouldn’t be having these problems. JUST KIDDING! :)
to be fair, running a slashcode site (or at least setting it up) probably takes more expertise than WP. I have never claimed that it would be easier to set up, just that it would be a more useful blog with slashcode.
I don’t know where to submit this comment, so here’s where I’m putting it…
Is there any way you can change the typeface? It’s terribly difficult to read. Or maybe it’s just the font size (smaller would be better).
Mike,
I actually think that this is an improvement, at least on Firefox under Windows, and on Safari as well. I suggest messing with the font size in your browser.
Kaimi,
Eliza is a name for an early fake-AI program that is able to simulate conversations. The ELIZA above is either an Eliza bot or someone pretending to be one. How sad would it be to have to pretend to be an Eliza bot because you couldn’t code one up yourself?
oh, I am slow on the uptake. Jonathan Green requested a bot in #3 and a classic bot shows up in #6. Still, I hope the prankster didn’t just fake it.
a random John: I actually think that this [the typeface] is an improvement, at least on Firefox under Windows, and on Safari as well. I suggest messing with the font size in your browser.
I’m running Firefox 1.0.2 with Windows 2000, with text size set to normal. The typeface was horrid.
It seems the site has been reverted to its original look. Was the one I complained about a temporary look while the site was being restored, or is that what it’s going toward?
A random John–
How does that make you feel?
Mike,
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. As you said, it is now back to normal. I think normal is a bit worse than the emergency mode.
Eliza,
Does being fake remind you of your mother?
ARJ, ‘bots are computer programs that make inane comments, and I want nothing to do with them. Avatars are real people who make inane comments while in the guise of Gerald Ford’s face attached to Snow White’s body, all done up in a garish color scheme. In short, just what T&S needs, at least as much as slashcode.

See the above site for why bots can be fun, in the right context.
