We’re pleased to introduce Shannon Keeley and Brian Gibson, our newest guest bloggers and our first co-blogging team.
Shannon and Brian met in an infamous English class at Brigham Young University—infamous because T&S regulars Steve Evans and Rosalynde Frandsen Welch were also enrolled. The chaotic events that followed will be forever shrouded in mystery, but when the dust cleared Brian and Shannon ended up married.
Brian went on to attend film school at USC, where he received an MFA in screenwriting, while Shannon completed an M.A. in English literature at Loyola Marymount University. Armed with these useless degrees, they boldly went forth to hold several low-paying and highly demeaning jobs. After many years of being a poor provider Brian stumbled his way into reality and documentary television. He currently works as a Story Producer—essentially an industry code word for writer. Shannon continued teaching composition and literature at LMU as adjunct faculty, and then left academia to write and edit curricular materials for educational publishing companies.
Brian and Shannon live in Los Angeles and are raising a precocious 14-month old girl named Keeley. Keeley is so terribly cute that a team of military scientists are now studying her in an effort to harness her power and use it for the advancement of mankind, or the destruction of enemy forces—whatever comes first.
Shannon continues to freelance in the educational publishing market, and she also manages the apartment complex where they live (harassing people till they pay their rent, getting yelled at by angry tenants, more overflowing toilets than Shannon cares to remember).
For the longest time both Brian and Shannon were completely oblivious of the Mormon blogging community until one night they randomly decided to google Shannon’s name and discovered people on T&S were talking behind their back. Of course, they couldn’t take that lying down and soon jumped into the fray. Now they get to pick the fights, and we can’t wait!
Shannon and Brian,
So, like I’ve said before, we need to get together and have dinner sometime. No sense leaving all the fun Bloggernacle-fests to those pretentious East Coasters. When works for you guys?

Well, I for one am looking forward to their posts.
By the way, after Shannon and Brian have been posting for a week, we’ll hold a contest to see which one of them gets voted off of the island. At that point, the other one will then have to eat some chicken-fried rat.
Yum!
I quite enjoyed the silliness of this intro — though it is also chock-full of information about them. I also (like Kaimi) look forward to seeing what thoughts they’ll be sharing with us.
Silly, yet informative. I think that sums us up pretty well, danithew.
Bring on the chicken fried rat, Kaimi.
i love reading the writings of brian and shannon. yea!
This Kara doesn’t happen to be related to Bryce I. and Dallin I. by any chance …
If I recall old christmas letters about milk pillows and brians parts this promises to be fun.
OK Mare, yes milk pillows were once mentioned, but I don’t think we ever referred to Brian’s parts, especially not in a Christmas letter!! Maybe you’re thinking of our Europe e-mails??
Your right but you did refer to them in a family letter if I recall a recent package stating so. Either way, I love reading your letters whatever they contain, they are extremely informative and fun.
So how does this timesandseason thing work? Maybe you can help me work my cell phone and VCR as well.
Anyway this quote was probably in a movie somewhere, probably by the same name, “I never promised you a rose garden.”

Dear SWG,
Hi, Dad. Thanks for posting. To me it looks like you have a handle on how Time & Seasons works, and there’s no question you’ve mastered the cellphone long ago and are much better at it than I am.
Now, the VCR. Maybe I can help you with that.
Love,
Brian
Aaron B.
I kept meaning to respond to your post up there and then getting distracted. . .now this thread is dead and you probably won’t get this post. . .but
Yes, let’s definitely conenct after the holidays! We’re leaving for Utah Christams Eve and will be back New Years Eve. So any time after that–our schedule is wiiiiide open.
Just note that you may be forced to talk in “Jane Austen style” when dining in our home.
Shannon,
Katie and Robin will be in town for Christmas too. We’ll have to get together for dinner. Whats your schedule?
Got your message, Shannon! Yes, let’s hook up soon (well, not “hook up,” but you know what I mean). I’m fine with the Jane Austen-speak, as long as we don’t have to get dressed up and frolic through the English countryside like they do in those romantic, 19th Century British chick-flicks that my wife forces me to sit through.
I’ll call or email you in January.
