This should be a blog administrator post, but I’m not blog administrator. Anyway, I tracked down the bug in the comment code. Please let me know if you have any unexpected problems posting now by replying to this comment.
Of course, if you are having problems posting, you might not be able to reply, but I don’t think this was that kind of bug — comments were still getting through before the fix.
A note for Kaimi (and other WordPress users): The problem was with the ‘moderation_keys’ entry in the ‘wp_options’ table — the value included the line ‘& # 101’ (remove the spaces — I can’t remember how to escape properly in HTML — Kim??) which gets intepreted in a special way by the regular expression engine of PHP — hence the error ‘Unknown modifier ‘1’ in /home/seasons/public_html/wp/wp-includes/functions.php on line 1348′. The “unknown modifier ‘1’” is the “#1” (I think).

Bryce, thanks very much for taking care of this. Kaimi has most of the technical burden here, and I’m sure that sometimes it is a lonely burden, given the relative inability of some of us and the absolute inability of the rest.
Nice work Bryce! :) It’s nice to see how quickly you can fix things like that.
Looks great — thanks so much for your help!
Hey — this comment code isn’t making my comments sound much more brilliant and insightful! Needs work yet, I think.
Hmm, just realized that
(a) I started my own blog (http://ethesis.blogspot.com/)
and
(b) you took down the link you used to have to my site.
Don’t know if that was a glitch or just an intentional pruning.
Stephen —
I would send Kaimi an email separately — I think he’s in charge of that. I’m just a guestblogger here.
TOTAL Nathan–
What are you talking about? That comment you just made was one of the most beautiful and sublime pieces of writing I’ve ever seen. **sniff** (wipes tear from eye)… excuse me …
Okay, now I know that you’re a pod person. The REAL Bruce I would simply have wagged his tongue out.
Or said something about microwaves.
