A recent study ranked all fifty states according to how corrupt they were. As a measure it used the ratio of public officials convicted of corruption to the population as a whole. Lousiana came in first, as the most corrupt state in the country. (Actually D.C. is more corrupt, but it didn’t count as a state.) Nebraska came in as the least corrupt state. Utah ranked the sixth least corrupt state after Nebraska, Oregon, New Hampshire, Iowa, and Colorado. Interestingly, Idaho, which I believe is the second most Mormon state in the Union, came in as the 17th most corrupt.
Yeah, my state is least corrupt because our leaders are up front about screwing us over. HA!
Maybe that whole Olympic thing tainted Utah.
Interesting study. Given that no one in Utah’s government was convicted over the Olympic’s scandal, it’s possible that Utah’s ranking should have been higher.
Part of that is because people in Utah tend to make better choices in general.

I’m a Certified Fraud Examiner and former Govt auditor and know why corruption is low in Utah because I’ve recently converted to LDS. Mormons live the truth and their lifestyles give more than lip service to both the Gospels and Book of Mormon. It amazing that many Christians don’t even know what’s a sin and whats not according to the Scriptures and it amazed me that I didn’t know either. Its neither the legal system nor the ethics courses learned in college but, both the Book of Mormon, Scriptures and Mormon family support system as espoused by our beloved Prophet which makes all of the difference. May God Bless You and Keep You. Thanks, Jon Allie.
